Tenneco is a leader in the automotive systems market, and we are seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer (Injection Mold) to join our Athens team.
About the Position
This position involves optimizing manufacturing processes and products using engineering principles and analytical techniques.
- Responsibilities include investigating and solving problems related to tooling, equipment, and processes.
- You will analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, designing layouts of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- The ideal candidate will have experience with developing, recommending, and implementing changes that improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
- You will assist the Process Line Manager in planning for capital investments and expenses, evaluating new product feasibility, and making recommendations relative to manufacturing feasibility.
- FOLLOWING UP ON CUSTOMER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS (CSR) AND TRAINING DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL IN SAFETY, SETUP, OPERATIONS, AND TROUBLESHOOTING OF EXISTING AND NEW EQUIPMENT ARE ALSO KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.
- ESTIMATING PRODUCTION RATES, SETUP, AND TOOLING COSTS FOR INQUIRY AND NEW PART SETUP MAY ALSO BE REQUIRED.
- MASTERY OF A SKILL SET SUCH AS PLC PROGRAMMING, WELDING, AUTOMATION, VISION SYSTEM, ETC., IS DESIRABLE.
- COMPLIANCE WITH THE PLANT'S SAFETY POLICY, REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS, AND OPERATIONAL CONTROLS ESTABLISHED IS EXPECTED.
- ENSURING CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS ARE MET IS A TOP PRIORITY.
- HAZARDOUS WASTE HANDLING AND STORAGE MUST BE DONE IN A COMPLIANT MANNER WITH FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL REGULATIONS.

A Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field is required, or 5 or more years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CQI-30 Mix and Molding – Assessor requires possession of rubber mixing and molding process knowledge. Evidence includes a minimum of 5 years of applied industry experience or a combination of formal engineering education and molding experience totaling a minimum of 5 years.
