What are the responsibilities and job description for the Visitor Services Associate (Seasonal) position at Tennessee Aquarium?

As a Visitor Services Associate, you will provide an excellent level of customer care by anticipating and meeting the needs of each guest while supporting the Aquarium's mission to connect people with nature and empower them to make informed decisions about water and wildlife.
Key Responsibilities
- Connect with visitors from various backgrounds by greeting, assisting, and communicating effectively to ensure a positive, high level of customer service throughout their visit.
- Address complaints and provide prompt service recovery in a calm and professional manner.
- Regularly rotate between each designated post throughout the River Journey and Ocean Journey buildings; maintain a working knowledge of each area to adequately assist and educate visitors.
- Ensure the safe, smooth, and even flow of visitors throughout the River Journey and Ocean Journey buildings by directing visitors or groups to a specific building or area, preventing and alleviating crowds, monitoring the safe usage of elevators and escalators, etc.
- Monitor and ensure the safety of our animals and visitors at each touch tank by squeegeeing, clearly communicating the rules, and quickly responding to incidents
- Communicate professionally via a two-way radio.
- Address large diverse groups of visitors with confidence and professionalism while using a microphone.
- Uphold all safety protocols; remain vigilant, respond quickly during emergency situations, monitor both buildings and the plaza, and report any safety concerns to the appropriate individual(s) in a timely manner.
- Complete all mandatory virtual and in-person trainings within the allotted time frame.
- Fulfill other required workplace responsibilities within the Visitor Services Department.

- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time; frequent moving between and within the buildings and transporting various objects

Seasonal, hourly ($15/hour); Season runs April through September 1st (Labor Day)
