Job Summary
Welding Technology Adjunct Instructors are responsible for providing instruction to students in all areas of the training program to prepare them for the entry into welding industry careers.
Job Duties
Post-secondary diploma or certificate from an accredited technical training program in the welding field
Three (3) years' experience in the welding field within the last five (5) years
Preferred Qualifications
AWS or other industry-recognized certification
Teaching experience
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher
Computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office applications, email, etc.)
Indication of willingness to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and business/industry personnel
Commitment to remaining current with industry practices through professional development activities
Ability to travel and/or work after school activities such as graduation, in-service, etc.
Salary
Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology and Tennessee Board of Regents salary guidelines.

- Teach/instruct students through lectures, demonstrations, and/or audio visual aids. - (Essential)
- Prepare syllabi of courses of study with detailed lesson plans. - (Essential)
- Monitor, grade, and evaluate students' progress; Must develop and maintain effective student assessment practices and grading processes. - (Essential)
- Maintain appropriate student records and submit timely reports. - (Essential)
- Attend workshops and/or other training programs to remain current in the industry. - (Essential)
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for student learning. - (Essential)
- Source and request needed instructional supplies and equipment necessary for proper student instruction. - (Marginal)
- Develop and maintain strong industry partnerships to enhance the students' learning experience. - (Essential)
- Assist in program recruitment and assist certified graduates with placement opportunities. - (Marginal)
- Maintain required annual 60% completion, 70% placement, and 70% licensure rate pursuant to the Council on Occupational Education (COE) accreditation standards. - (Essential)
- Ensure compliance with all TBR, institutional, state, and federal requirements. - (Essential)
