Title: Coordinator of Learning Commons
Institution: Volunteer State Community College
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Learning Commons, the Coordinator of Learning Commons assists the Director with the coordination of academic student support services designed to enhance student learning and promote student success. This position assists with the academic support offerings at all Volunteer State Community College campuses.
Job Duties
Assist with the facilitation of on ground and online tutoring with guidance from the Director of Learning Commons and the academic departments. Delegate and oversee projects assigned to the Learning Commons staff members and work study students. Serve as an academic coach, providing intentional, individual student support (including student athletes post-advising) aimed at fostering academic student success. Facilitate online tutoring services and monitor usage of any online contract services, making service adjustments as needed to stay within budget. Obtain intake information from prospective and current students for assistance in the Learning Commons and ensure maintenance of said student records for students receiving assistance in the Learning Commons. Work collaboratively with various departments and divisions to support the mission of the College and the Learning Commons. Provide support to the Director of Learning Commons with budget preparation, and development and submission of annual Continuous Improvement Plans. Prepare reports as needed for department and the Office of Research, Assessment, and Special Initiatives. Collaborate with and provide support to the Learning Commons at off-campus locations. Serve as a proxy to the Director of Learning Commons when they are out of the office. Develop and maintain Learning Commons website, LibGuides, and LibCal ensuring accessibility standards are met. Complete special projects as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Three years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an educational setting in the area of tutoring and/or instructional support.
Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
Experience with Springshare applications including LibCal and LibGuide.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Must be a willing advocate of the mission of the college.
Excellent interpersonal skills using tact, courtesy, and patience.
Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with multiple populations.
Ability to problem solve.
Ability to use and implement data-informed decision making.
Knowledge of and familiarity with an ERP system.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Pay Rate: $47,276 - $59,095 annual salary depending on experience
