The Admissions Counselor/Recruiter will create and maintain a welcoming and high-energy atmosphere for students and staff while providing exceptional customer service at all campus locations. This role actively supports and participates in various campus recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring students are guided throughout the admissions process. The counselor will assist in organizing and managing events such as graduations, national signing days, open houses, job fairs, student orientations, campus tours, and other student-centered activities.
The position involves extensive engagement with area high schools through tours, speaking engagements, and dual enrollment initiatives, all while maintaining strict compliance with admission, registration, and financial aid regulations. Counselors provide both group and individual orientations and offer guidance on admissions requirements and career paths. They also assist applicants in navigating the Banner portal for admissions, registration, and financial aid processes.
Maintaining regular communication with applicants is essential, as is updating and managing content for social and traditional media platforms. The Admissions Counselor/Recruiter develops marketing materials and collaborates with community agencies to promote college programs. Furthermore, they offer referral services to help meet students' educational, emotional, and physical needs, including disability services.
This role requires ongoing professional development and training, as well as the flexibility to work additional hours to support college events. Travel is occasionally required for recruitment and outreach efforts. The Admissions Counselor/Recruiter will also perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or administration, ensuring seamless support for the college’s mission and goals.
