DISTILLATION SUPERVISOR REQUIREMENTS

• • 3 years of staff supervisory experience
• • Experience working on a column distillation still - pot still only experience will not be considered
• • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment
• • High school diploma or equivalent
• • Ability to fulfill physical requirements, including lifting 50 pounds, frequently sitting and standing, and working in various weather conditions
• • Analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to keep a cool head during tense situations
• • Punctuality and reliability
• A B.S. in biology or chemistry would be preferred.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As our Distillation Supervisor, you work closely with our director to ensure our products meet each customer's specifications and our company's high standards. You oversee distilling teams across three production shifts and two distilleries, ensuring each shift is appropriately staffed, sanitation protocols are followed, and raw materials are ready and available. If you notice any safety or sanitation violations, you swiftly address the problem and make adjustments as needed.

Your distilling duties include observing steam and air valves, checking gauges and dials, monitoring fermentation, operating pumps, and controlling high-proof distillate stills. Thinking strategically, you analyze our manufacturing processes, help plan and forecast production needs, and manage the production calendar. You help clean tanks and equipment, maintain cooking areas, and record the yield at the end of a run to ensure everything's functioning optimally. As directed by the lead distiller, you help unload grain trucks, collect and test grain samples, monitor equipment functions, and assist with other manufacturing responsibilities.
