Food Expeditor/Food Runner

Tennessee Grasslands is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Food Expeditor to ensure the smooth flow of orders between the kitchen and the dining room. The Food Expeditor plays a key role in maintaining high-quality standards, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of food to guests, and communicating effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the liaison between the kitchen staff and servers, ensuring all orders are properly coordinated.
• Check food orders for accuracy, presentation, and quality before they are sent out to guests.
• Ensure that dishes are delivered in a timely manner and at the proper temperature.
• Communicate any special requests or dietary restrictions to the kitchen.
• Monitor ticket times to ensure prompt food service and address any delays.
• Organize and prioritize orders based on timing and complexity to ensure efficient service.
• Assist with assembling and plating food as needed.
• Communicate effectively with both kitchen staff and servers to resolve any issues or delays.
• Keep the expediting area clean and organized throughout service.
• Support other team members as needed during busy shifts.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Food Expeditor or in a similar role in a high-paced restaurant environment is preferred.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and stay organized in a fast-paced setting.
• Keen attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety practices.
