Job Purpose
The successful candidate will develop a nationally recognized teaching and research program in plant science using a multidisciplinary approach including plant genetics and genomics. The School of Agriculture in the College of Agriculture and Human Ecology at Tennessee Tech University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Plant Science. This is a full-time, 9-month tenure track position with primary responsibility in teaching (55%) and research (45%).

Essential Functions
- Teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses in Plant Science, Agronomy, and Horticulture.
- Advise students and collaborate with organizations, agencies, and schools for placement of students in internships and projects to develop critical skill sets.
- Conduct innovative basic and / or applied plant science research under field, greenhouse, and laboratory conditions through collaborations with a wide range of faculty with the college, university, and other institutions.
- Write grant proposals and obtain external funding to support his or her research program.
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals in his or her discipline.
- Contribute to the school / college / university through service activities.

Salary
Commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position to begin August 1, 2025.
