Job Purpose
The Director of Admissions leads and manages the Office of Admissions, including high school and community relations, undergraduate recruitment and services, the campus visit program, and office operations. Major responsibilities include the development, design and implementation of strategic enrollment management and recruitment efforts to support the university’s goals for new undergraduate students as well as the establishment of a diverse student body. The director is responsible for undergraduate admission policy, supervision of applications processing, and leveraging of the customer relationship management (CRM) strategies. The director chairs and is a member of the University Recruitment Committee, which coordinates campus-wide recruitment efforts for entering freshman and transfer students. The Director of Admissions is a key member of the Enrollment Management Executive Team, which includes the Director of Student Financial Aid, Director of Scholarships and Institutional Aid, Executive Director of Students Success, Director of International Education, and Senior Director of Enrollment Management Data Analyst. The position reports to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment and Student Success.

Essential Functions
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education admissions, recruitment, or a comparable area. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Proven experience in hiring, supervising, management decision-making, and team development is required. Proficiency in understanding and effectively utilizing complex student information systems in a management role is necessary. A demonstrated record of achieving enrollment goals and successful outcomes is required. Ability to cultivate a supportive and collaborative work environment within the Office of Admissions is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
Work Hours
Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Additional hours if/when needed.
Compensation And Benefits
Salary Commensurate with education and experience. Pay grade 13.

Essential Functions
- Contributes to the successful accomplishment of the University’s enrollment objectives by developing and implementing a comprehensive student recruitment plan for undergraduate students.
- Provides leadership, management, and support for the recruitment efforts of the Office of Admissions.
- In collaboration with the Office of Communications and Marketing, develops data-driven recruitment strategies by effectively utilizing data from a variety of sources to evaluate student characteristics and trends, as well as the University’s market position and competition.
- Effectively utilizes University resources in accomplishing enrollment objectives by planning, developing, and controlling the departmental budget.
- Ensures the efficient processing of admission applications by developing and administering policies, procedures, and systems that provide quality admission services for prospective students.
- Contributes to the overall success of Admissions and Enrollment Management by advising and assisting the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success in all aspects relating to the recruitment and admission of students and by performing all other essential duties as assigned.
