What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist position at Tennessee Tech University?
Essential Functions
Supervise all rehabilitation and treatment of injuries sustained by student-athletes. Have direct and indirect contact with physicians and the ability to follow all physician's protocols. Must be able to assist with physical examinations. Provide athletic training coverage as needed with athletics teams and assist with administrative duties as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. NATA Board of Certification "national" certification required. Tennessee Athletic Trainer's "state" License or eligibility for license is required. Current state of Tennessee license (Both PT / ATC ) or eligible for licensure CPR / First Aid certification. Experience working with athletes is preferred, no years of experience required, entry level welcome to apply.
Preferred Qualifications
B.S., M.S. or Doctorate in physical therapy from an accredited program. TN Physical Therapist license required. Graduate from a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapy Program. Experience with athletes is preferred (D1, professional, etc.). Appropriate knowledge base of physical therapy with the willingness to learn about or collaborate in a sports setting.
