The Tennessee Titans are seeking an Assistant Dietitian to join our Sports Performance department. The Assistant Dietitian will be responsible for assisting the Nutrition Coordinator with the delivery and quality enhancement of the Titans nutritional services. The Assistant Dietitian will assist with fueling practices, managing inventory of fueling stations, coordinating with the culinary team and will function as an extension of the team's Sports Performance program to optimize fueling and performance of athletes. This individual must be able to collaborate in a team environment and work in conjunction with members of the Sports Performance staff. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a collegiate or professional football team.
Responsibilities:
Work with individual players on meal planning, dietary choices, body composition goals, nutrition strategies and interventions
Assist with nutrition-related player testing and reporting (weights, hydration and sweat testing, body composition, etc.)
Review performance nutrition related research and supplements to educate team and ensure player safety
Develop, plan and execute player education programs and resources
Assist with food service management for dining facility including creation of educational content and menu analysis
Manage fueling areas for players (stocking, receiving, organization, inventory)
Prepare and administer pre-and post-practice/game fueling and recovery
Assist with practice and game day nutrition operations including on-field fueling/hydration, stadium setup and post-game meal; travel with team as requested
Be a collaborative member of the performance team including sports medicine, strength and conditioning, culinary team, coaches, and players
Perform other duties as assigned by Nutrition Coordinator
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or Exercise Physiology required. Master’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or Exercise Physiology preferred.
Registered Dietitian (RD) credential is required
Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) is preferred
Ability to obtain Tennessee state licensure within 30 days of hire required
2 or more years’ experience in a collegiate or professional sports nutrition environment
Minimum of 1 year experience within a football team required
Experience in food service management including menu consulting and fueling stations
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
Able to work independently and as a team member
Must understand the sensitive and confidential nature of player information
Able to work non-traditional hours including holidays, evenings, and weekends
Able to walk and stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
