Director of Marketing - Tenney Mountain Resort

Tenney Mountain Resort is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Director of Marketing to lead the marketing efforts for our New Hampshire ski resort and Backcountry Bar & Grill. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing strategy and execution, a passion for winter sports, and a creative, proactive approach to increasing resort engagement and visitation.

Key Responsibilities :

Marketing Strategy Development :

  • Develop a comprehensive, year-round marketing plan aligned with resort goals.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer preference studies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., food and beverage, snow operations) to integrate marketing strategies with project objectives.
  • Create actionable plans to ensure effective team execution.

Campaign Planning & Execution :

  • Design and execute innovative campaigns to promote resort activities and events.
  • Manage all campaign aspects including digital marketing, social media, content creation, and traditional marketing.
  • Analyze campaign performance metrics to optimize results.
  • Brand Management :

  • Define and maintain a consistent brand identity for the resort.
  • Ensure all marketing materials align with brand guidelines and goals.
  • Create visually compelling content (photography, video, and social media posts).
  • Digital & Social Media Marketing :

  • Develop and manage digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, website optimization, and email marketing.
  • Maintain and update the resort's website to ensure it's current year-round.
  • Manage social media channels to engage audiences and respond to inquiries.
  • Implement and track paid campaigns, ensuring strong ROI.
  • Stay up-to-date with digital marketing trends to maximize online visibility.
  • Content Creation :

  • Oversee the creation of engaging content, including blog posts, social media, press releases, and videos.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop content showcasing the resort's unique offerings.
  • Event Execution & Promotion :

  • Plan and execute promotional events to generate excitement around the resort.
  • Coordinate participation in trade shows, expos, and community events.
  • Manage event materials, including signage and displays.
  • Budget Management :

  • Assist in developing and managing the marketing budget, ensuring effective resource allocation.
  • Monitor expenses and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Stakeholder Communication :

  • Collaborate with stakeholders (investors, partners, local authorities) to align marketing with project goals.
  • Organize meetings to ensure marketing objectives are met.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of marketing experience, including leadership and delegation.
  • Strong knowledge of the ski, snowboard, or outdoor sports industry.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and graphic design skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficient in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, WordPress, and analytics.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is a plus.
