Job Description
Position Title: Accounting Manager
Department: Tennis Memphis
Direct Report: Chief Operations Director
Basic Functions
Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Director, the Accounting Manager position is responsible for ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness and accountability of our POS System/Club Automation software, record keeping of all Tennis Memphis facility operations. Plan, manage and perform administrative and clerical tasks necessary for the accounting operations for all Tennis Memphis facilities.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded
- Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger
- Generates weekly, monthly, and yearly reports detailing all financial and utilization activity for Tennis Memphis
- Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting strongly preferred. Associate degree in Accounting accepted.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Quickbooks and other bookkeeping software systems

Physical Requirements
Office is located at Leftwich Tennis Center. Regular communication and contact with employees and members. Repetitive keyboard activity and sitting at computer; standing and moving around the facility for extended periods of time.
Essential Functions
- Oversee and monitor organization’s bookkeeping/accounting activities
- Help develop efficient processes and systems for our bookkeeping/accounting processes
- Balances ledgers, reconciles accounts, and prepares reports to show receipts, expenditures, accounts receivable, and payable
- Ensures program revenue and participation at all our facilities is accurate and completes daily reconciliation of tennis center business and activities
- Manage day to day bookkeeping/accounting system, bank reconciliation, budgets, annual audit
- Coordinate with direct report to establish strategic goals and evaluating outcomes
- Generate weekly, monthly, and yearly reports detailing all financial activity for Tennis Memphis
- Recommending POS system improvements
- Maintains and records a complete and systematic set of business transactions
- Assess and report the performance of the organization against the business’s goals and plans to the Chief Operations Director and Board of Directors
Secondary Functions
- Participate in training and other initiatives
- Prepare reports, presentations and letters
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
