About Tennr :
Today, when a doctor refers a patient to a specialist, they send that referral via fax. (Yes, in 2024, 90% of provider-provider communication is a 1980s fax). Naturally, a doctor wants their patient to receive quality care as quickly as possible - but messy documentation, lengthy clinical reviews, and a constant back and forth over fax slows everything down. And the document work isn't just data entry. It's fine-tooth reasoning over dozens of pages of clinical information at a level of complexity that has largely stumped existing automation systems (and tired humans).
Tennr built an automations platform centered around our suite of document-reading models (like RaeLLM™, a 7B model trained on 3M medical documents) to help your doctor ensure nothing is missed and help schedule your appointment so you can get better, faster.
Tennr is a NYC-based tech company that launched out of Y-Combinator and is backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Foundation Capital, The New Normal Fund, and other top investors.
Position Overview :
For as large of a sector as it is (17.3% of US GDP), healthcare has some of the ugliest software I've ever seen. It makes sense... high regulation, little incentive... but what if it didn't have to be that way?
Even though we are building automations, Tennr will always be a daily use tool for our end users. And anyone who uses software daily in 2024 deserves an incredible experience.
Part of our company mission to bring healthcare into the information age means completely redefining the design standards for all the healthtech companies that follow.
The role will work closely with our Engineering & Product Teams, as well as our Customer Success Managers to make sure our product is subtly and entirely excellent. You'll get plenty of exposure to our customers on calls and be instrumental to defining the visual brand of Tennr.
What we need from you : Collaboration :
You need to be one of the strongest cross-functional partners in the business, working with nearly every department in the business. You need to be constructive and excel at giving and receiving feedback in a constructive way.Design execution :
Master of design execution at every level. From wireframes to user journeys to prototypes. Maybe even help with the design of our branded collateral from time to time.Brand and design systems : You'll be developing and maintaining the Tennr design system. You will be one of the first roles responsible for creating a cohesive Tennr brand, this will require you to form a deep understanding of our value, voice and most importantly our customers.Being a Customer Advocate :
Deeply understand our customers and their pains. We are in a market where ugly hard to use software is the norm, Tennr needs to the new standard for excellent user experiences.Participation in technical challenges :
You will interact with our engineering team on technical constraints. Having an understanding of React components via Storybook will help you get up to speed quickly and make you more effective.Qualifications :
5 years of experienceProficiency in design tools, Figma preferredStrong understanding of user-centered design principlesExperience with design systems and component-based designBasic understanding of front-end technologies (React preferred)Experience on founding technical teams is a (big) plus.
