Job Summary:
Plan, direct and budget activities concerned with the construction of structures, facilities, or systems. Read and interpret site plans, construction drawings and scopes of work. Coordinate essential personnel on-site for the project. Manage supplies, materials, and equipment. They implement company requirements and legal regulations and ensure everyone is following them to make the construction site a safe place to work. A general foreperson may also conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments, ensuring employees are working safely but efficiently.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Report project progress to superiors.
- Develop a work schedule for workers.
- Supervise all construction workers.
- Solve disputes between workers.
- Ensure that a project is adequately staffed.
- Assign tasks to construction workers.
- Ensure that the project is staying on or under budget.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Supervise core construction team to comply with Site Superintendent and Construction Manager directives.
- Oversee execution of work, including production.
- Understand and enforce run rates as established by the site management team.
- Manage and guide proper use of tools and equipment.
- Ensure completion of equipment daily maintenance, cleaning and safety checks of equipment.
- Supervises duties of Foremen and Crew members.
- Maintains tracking detail for maintenance for equipment, generators, vehicles, and trailers.
- Communicates status updates to leadership and, when required, customers in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
- Responsible for final Quality Assurance / Quality Control of the work performed by crews.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Prior experience as a Foreman, General Foreman or Superintendent highly preferred.
- Champion and own safety by modeling behaviors, maintaining a drug free work environment and performing corrective action when appropriate.

Education and Experience:
- Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED.
- Deep knowledge of the construction industry and processes
- Fluency in English but Spanish would be a plus.
- Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints.
- Perform quality checks on construction equipment.
- Ability to travel.
- Aptitude in math and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Extensive knowledge of construction best practices, equipment maintenance and use, and OSH guidelines
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent Computer Skills.
- Completion of a Journeyman Lineman program or equivalent.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Experience managing field crews.
