Role: Program Manager
Location: Torrance, CA
Duration: 12 months
Work Type: 2 days on-site at Torrance, CA (Applicants must reside in SoCal area)
Contract Type: W2 only, No corp to corp applicants
Daily Tasks Performed
- Work with Business and IT teams, including Business Data Owners, Data Stewards, Technical Data Stewards, Catalog Architects, Platform Owners, and Project/Product Managers, to implement Data Quality rules, metadata ingestion, profiling, sampling, reports, and Data Governance dashboards.
- Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for the IT community and project stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations and business objectives.
- Manage teams through all phases of cycle development, including analysis, project design and development, testing periods, installation and final delivery.
- Responsible for assembling project plans, team work assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
- Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed.
- Ability to lead meetings, gain consensus, and take and distribute meeting minutes.
- Strong vendor management skills. Some projects will have work outsourced to onshore and offshore resources.
- Responsible for the management of one or more medium to large-sized, moderately to highly complex projects
What will this person be working on
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
- Project Management PMP certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is preferred.
- Self-starter - Ability to leverage previous experience and available information to create and update project plans. Requires little oversight.
- Strong presentation skills with experience with providing project updates with all levels of the organization.
- Advanced ability to oversee and manage large, complex, diverse and strategic projects that impact the organization as a whole
- Advanced ability in implementing program and project plans, monitoring progress, resource usage and quality
- Advanced knowledge in conducting risk assessments and developing plans for eliminating or mitigating the risks identified
- Advanced understanding of multiple project management disciplines; waterfall, agile/scrum.
- Experience in supply chain processes, including inventory management, order processing, and distribution center operations is desired.
- Experience in implementing large scale end-to-end supply chain system (i.e. BlueYonder) with mainframe integrations, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) proceses.
- In-depth knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and experience implementing SOX controls.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership, drive results, solve problems, and possess interpersonal skills from prior work situations
- Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective.
- Experience working with Clarity - OpenWorkBench and/or MUX is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in RFP and vendor selection.
