Our client, one of the world's leading scientific societies and a non-profit, is looking for a Scientific Technology Project Manager to join their team at their HQ in Washington D.C. (2 days/week onsite required). The Office of Sustainable Development drives initiatives that promote sustainability for our client. The Campaign for a Sustainable Future includes convening the scientific community around sustainability topics, establishing a grant program, creating an online sustainability portal, and advancing educational outreach.
Under the Office of Sustainable Development, our client is dedicated to catalyzing and enabling the adoption of green and sustainable chemistry and engineering globally. Its focus includes advancing science and research, integrating green chemistry into higher education, fostering industrial implementation of sustainable practices, and supporting advocacy efforts. Key initiatives include an annual conference, summer school, student awards, educational resources, industry roundtables, and communications. Both the Office of Sustainable Development and the GCI are part of the Division of Scientific Advancement at our client.The Scientific Technology Project Manager will support these programs by managing the Green Chemistry for Sustainability Platform and other web-based initiatives.

Project Management – Green Chemistry for Sustainability

- Location: 2 days/ week onsite in Washington D.C. is required
- Employment Type: Full-time 40 hours/week M-F, Contract (1 year )
- Work Authorization: Candidates are required to be legally authorized to work in the United States without a sponsoring employer indefinitely. At this time, we can only consider US Citizens, GC Holders, GC EADs.
Project Management – Green Chemistry for Sustainability
- Develop and track key performance metrics; analyze data to make actionable recommendations
- Create and implement strategies aligned with sustainability goals
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to manage projects effectively
- Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Identify opportunities for new partnerships and proactively drive collaborations forward
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technical and design vendors
- Identify and prioritize bug fixes, updates, and enhancements for the platform
- Coordinate work between internal teams and external partners
- Test and review deployments to ensure quality and functionality
- Conduct community surveys and usability testing to inform improvements
- Moderate and manage user-generated content on the platform
- Curate and highlight relevant content to drive engagement
- Support outreach efforts at chemistry events
- Manage social media channels, evaluate their effectiveness, and engage with the community
- Proofread and review communications for clarity and impact
- Collaborate with partners to promote content and increase platform engagement
- Update and manage various websites, including acsgcipr.org and related platforms
- Organize files and resources using SharePoint
- Generate reports to track progress and outcomes
- Candidates are required to work 2 days/week onsite in Washington D.C. (NON-NEGOTIABLE!)

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Drupal, WordPress, or other CMS platforms
- Familiarity with task management software (e.g., Asana) and Adobe Creative Cloud tools (e.g., Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign) is a plus
- Proficient with technology and willing to troubleshoot IT systems and websites
- Background in sustainability, green chemistry, or science-related fields
- Ability to review and edit scientific content (preferred)
- Knowledge of social media tools and Canva is desirable
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Self-starter with a strong customer-service mindset
- Excellent interpersonal skills for working with diverse stakeholders, including technical and industrial professionals
