Sr. Project Manager

Our client, a Fortune 100 Credit Union, is looking to add a Sr. Project Manager to their Information Securities team. This role will be fully remote, but requires occasional onsite time in Vienna, VA.

• Candidates are required to be legally authorized to work in the United States without a sponsoring employer indefinitely. At this time we can only accept US Citizens, GC EAD, GC Holders, TN Visas.
• Candidates are required to currently reside within the continental United States.
• This is a W2 contract through 2025 with the possibility of an extension. We can’t do C2C arrangements or 1099.
• Compensation: Depends on experience level. $60-$70/hr.
  
  

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Sr. Project Manager to provide full Agile project management support, collaborating with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Agile Coaches. This role ensures the successful execution of projects by delivering on time, within budget, and in alignment with quality standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Agile methodologies and Scrum processes, with the ability to serve as both a Project Manager and Scrum Master in a hybrid capacity. Work is performed under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Apply Agile project management best practices within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Lead projects from inception through implementation, ensuring effective management and delivery of technical solutions.
• Partner strategically with the Program Manager to execute roadmaps and establish key program metrics.
• Communicate project status, risks, and roadmaps to executive leadership.
• Navigate procurement actions and contract reviews, including vendor management and invoice oversight.
• Oversee the full lifecycle project management, including:
• Establishing and leading proejct teams
• Defining project scope, schedules, budgets, and communications
• Managing resources, timelines, and quality assurance.
• Ensuring vendor performance and contract compliance.
• Mitigating risks and handling change management.
• Maintain project documentation, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
• Identify and resolve project-related technical, operational, and tactical issues.
• Support Agile teams by writing backlog requirements and facilitating Scrum ceremonies as needed.
• Monitor and evaluate project performance, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience leading Agile projects, including cross-functional teams and vendor partnerships.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and/or SAFe certification.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, SAFe framework, and Scrum ceremonies, including:
• Daily standups
• Backlog refinement
• Sprint planning
• Sprint reviews and retrospectives
• Experience managing remote teams and collaborating across organizational boundaries.
• Expertise in project lifecycle management, including Agile principles and methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage executive leadership.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with vendor engagement and contract management.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP – Project Management Certification
• Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or related field.
• Knowledge of Cloud Security Applications
• Familiarity with WebEx Video Conferencing System.
