We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This role will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting our IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and end-user systems. In addition to standard systems administration duties, this role will provide desktop support and troubleshooting for internal users. Key Responsibilities
Systems Administration:
- Manage and maintain servers, networks, and IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
- Perform routine system maintenance, including updates, patches, and backups.
- Monitor system performance and respond to alerts and incidents.
- Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure compliance with security policies and standards, and support audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Provide Tier 1 and 2 support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding, including setting up and decommissioning accounts, devices, and access permissions.
- Install and configure desktop applications and operating systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues for users.
- Participate in IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver IT solutions that meet business requirements.
- Act as a technical resource for junior team members, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in systems administration and desktop support.
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux server administration, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with network configuration and troubleshooting (e.g., switches, firewalls, VLANs).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network , Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or similar are a plus.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Customer service orientation and ability to interact with non-technical users.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects such as computers and peripherals.
- On-call availability and some weekend hours for maintenance or project support.
