LOCATION
Traveling position : We do not require you to live in a specific location for this position but you will be expected to report to one of our current job sites across the US. Tepa is a federal prevailing wage contractor. Pay rates and per diem will be determined by project and location. Project sites will be discussed during interview process.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking an Apprentice Electrician who will be responsible for assisting in the installation and repair of complex electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems working from a blueprint.
Job responsibilities include :
- Assist in completing layouts, pads, sleeves, underground runs, electrical rooms, and equipment rooms
- Assist Electricians in the performance of assigned duties
- Ensure equipment is in proper working condition
- Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, lighting systems, apparatuses, fixtures, and equipment
- Become familiar with technical diagrams and blueprints for each project
- Assist in performing general electrical maintenance
- Assist in inspecting and maintaining transformer and circuit breakers and other electrical components
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices
- Assisting in repairing and replacing equipment, electrical wiring, and fixtures
- Learn to comply with National Electrical Code, state, and local building regulations
- Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them
- Assist in installing safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels, etc.)
- Assist in connecting wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components
- Assist in troubleshooting damaged systems and units to identify hazards or malfunctions; repair or substitute damaged units
- Ensure safe installation practices are followed
