Job Description for Senior Engineer at Tephra Inc.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of site capital projects from project scope to installation, startup, and commissioning.
- Develop and implement strategies for maintaining a safe workplace with high housekeeping standards and data integrity.
- Provide input for PHAs/Hazops/etc. and contribute to site and corporate safety teams and programs.
- Monitor daily manufacturing performance, identify corrective actions, and implement changes to improve productivity and quality.
- Direct resources and technologies to support business goals and objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) with 5 years of progressive job experience in the Plastics & Extrusion industry.
- PREFERRED: Graduate degree, Professional registration and/or certification, Working knowledge of thermoplastic film extrusion, Web handling processes, and computer software applications including CAD, Solid Works, SAP, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Project.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
- Experience with expense and capital related projects with identified savings as a team leader or team member.
- Working knowledge of capital approval processes, return on investment/discounted cash flow, and multi-year capital budgeting.
- Effective communication skills, active listening, and ability to communicate openly and effectively.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and function as a peer in a team environment.
- Diligent, self-motivated, and able to make tough decisions in a timely manner.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelors in Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience
