We work alongside project developers, owners, and engineering & construction firms to support the design, optimization, and construction of huge solar projects around the world. Our team is a blend of solar-industry veterans and newbies, thought-leaders, dreamers, software, electrical and mechanical engineers, coders, product managers, project managers, and sales and marketing professionals. We are based in Northern California, and the ideal candidate for this role will reside in the West Coast area or be willing to relocate.
Position Summary
Reporting to the COO, this position supports Corporate and departmental cross-business line needs by providing legal advice and support on various legal issues, with an emphasis on contract negotiation, risk mitigation, commercial support, regulatory matters, and corporate issues.
Key Responsibilities :
Contract Management :
- Structure, draft, and negotiate, in coordination with the executive team, sales leads, and departmental leadership, commercial contracts, proposals, standard terms and conditions, and complex, time-sensitive commercial transactions.
- Develop and refine contract management processes, including contract templates, negotiation playbooks, compliance tracking, and training programs for internal teams.
- Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of EPC contracts and service agreements to ensure favorable terms, compliance with industry standards, and alignment with company policies.
- Identify potential legal and financial risks within contracts and develop strategies to mitigate exposure related to scope changes, performance obligations, payment terms, delay penalties, force majeure clauses, indemnities, and warranties.
