About the Role:
TeraDAR is looking for a creative Mechanical Engineering Co-op or Intern. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and fabrication of an automotive sensor assembly including: electronics enclosures, thermal management systems, radomes, test fixtures, customer facing models, and test vehicle sensor integration. You will have access to prototyping and fabricating equipment and will be able to advance your skills in mechanical design, thermal management, new product development, and prototyping and fabrication methods. This position is based out of Guilford, CT (preferred) or Boston, CT.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design (Solidworks preferred), prototype, and fabrication of mechanical parts and assemblies that interface with highly specialized electrical components.
- Identify and perform mechanical analyses including tolerance, thermal, and flow analyses as required to support development efforts.
- Design and build assembly fixtures to improve the ease and repeatability of the assembly process.
- Support sensor test activities by designing and fabricating various fixtures and components.
- Assist with the bring up of systems which involves mechanical assembly, thermal pad/grease application, and other various tasks.
- Ensure supporting documentation is in order for design and test activities.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience working with a variety of prototyping and/or fabrication methods.
- Experience performing mechanical analyses (tolerance, thermal, structural, and flow)
- Experience writing test protocols and reports to evaluate your designs.
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing methods
- Experience working with electrical components
- Experience working with Radar, LiDAR, or similar sensing systems
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive hourly rate/salary depending on experience.
