POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation (TIBI) invites applications for a highly motivated and innovative Postdoctoral Fellow to join our interdisciplinary team. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in electromedicine, advancing solutions for a wide range of diseases and promoting healthy living.
As a leader in personalized diagnostics and therapeutics, TIBI collaborates with clinicians, biotech companies, and pharmaceutical organizations to develop pioneering therapies and precision medicine technologies. In this role, you will work alongside experts in engineering, data science, and medicine to design and develop neuromodulation systems and wearable devices with real-world clinical applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and test neuromodulation and wearable devices.
- Perform animal surgical procedures and experiments.
- Collaborate closely with clinicians to translate findings and support clinical trials.
- Present research outcomes in group meetings, seminars, and conferences.
- Propose inventive solutions for electroceuticals, including formulating hypotheses, designing experiments, designing and fabricating devices, conducting trials, analyzing results, and publishing research papers.
- Contribute ideas to grant proposals, submit postdoctoral fellowship applications, and support faculty in grant proposal writing (NIH, NSF, and DoD).
- Collaborate closely with fellow TIBI members to conduct research, exchange ideas, and develop innovative solutions for scientific and clinical inquiries.
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE):
- D. in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- D. earned within the past four years.
- Experience in electrical and/or ultrasound device design and fabrication is preferred.
- Experience with, or willingness to learn, animal surgical procedures and experiments.
- Proven ability to conduct independent, high-quality research.
- Excellent collaboration skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Open to feedback, adaptable, and driven by a strong work ethic.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Have close visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to fabricate and test electrical device and perform animal surgeries
- Occasional standing and walking
