The Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Program Manager to oversee and coordinate research programs funded by government agencies, foundations, and industry partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in research administration, project management, and compliance, and will serve as a liaison between investigators, collaborators, sponsors, and institutional offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of multiple funded research projects (NIH, NSF, DoD, private foundations, and industry).
- Develop, track, and manage project timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
- Ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines, institutional policies, and federal regulations.
- Coordinate and prepare progress reports, technical reports, and administrative documents required by funding agencies.
- Facilitate communication between internal research teams and external stakeholders, including funding agencies and collaborators.
- Assist with budget tracking, expenditure monitoring, and reporting in collaboration with grants administration.
- Support the preparation and submission of grant applications and renewals, including timelines and submission checklists.
- Monitor sub-awards, contracts, and vendor relationships associated with funded projects.
- Maintain comprehensive project records and documentation, ensuring audit readiness.
- Participate in strategic planning and continuous process improvement for program operations
- Work with the PI on various other tasks
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences, engineering, public health, business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3 years of experience in project or program management, preferably in a biomedical research or academic environment.
- Experience with federally funded research administration and knowledge of sponsor guidelines (e.g., NIH, NSF, DoD).
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, or similar).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree (MPH, MBA, MS, or similar).
- PMP or CRA certification.
- Experience in translational or biomedical research settings.
- Familiarity with electronic research administration platforms (e.g., NIH eRA Commons, Grants.gov).
