Director of Operations

Terch & Associates, on behalf of Churches United in Ministry (CHUM) is seeking a nonprofit leader to oversee the operations of a faith-based anti-poverty organization.

Position Description :

The Director of Operations supports the Executive Director by implementing plans, managing staff, and monitoring key parts of the organization. Finally, the Director of Operations is a key part of the executive team and is expected to provide thoughtful leadership to all employees and participants.

Duties : Daily Operations

Work with department heads in dealing with day-to-day personnel issues.
Lease management at relevant CHUM properties.
Analyze data to inform operational decisions and look for methods of improving efficiency.

Policies

Maintain compliance with HUD and other federal requirements.

Manage government contracts.

Set and monitor performance standards.

Ensure compliance with all relevant non-profit requirements.

Develop effective policies to support organizational goals.

Human Resources

Develop job descriptions, manage interview processes, and hire staff.

Onboard / orient to CHUM.

Track and coordinate staff training with other leadership.

Ensure compliance with HR regulations.

Ensure safety and security of staff and property.

Develop and modify protocols, such as emergency drills or safety procedures, and maintain compliance across all departments

Requirements :

BA in a related field plus 5 years of experience.

Experience interpreting finances and having profit-and-loss responsibilities.

Ties to a congregation supported by a personal faith.

2 years of experience managing and directing other employees.
