What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiber Optic Installer position at Tercom Construction?
Provides Labor for Fiber Optic (FO) Installation in the interior of apartments and businesses. Placement of Outside Plant Cable in Duct. Set Vaults and Activate Equipment. Understanding outside plant (underground/ aerial) cable/ telephone & fiber optic systems. Reporting Progress and maintaining an installation schedule.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure a safe work environment. Read and understand telecommunications print
2. Daily paperwork including change of conditions
a. Timesheets/ field files
b. Report changes made in the field and document
c. Report inventory of tools and consumable materials via tracking sheets.
d. Provide photos as requested be manager
3. Crew Safety/ Truck Safety
a. Safe equipment, PPE
b. Manhole safety set up
4. Operate and Maintain company vehicle. Drivers License and Drivers abstract required
a. Maintain work truck and equipment keeping it clean and organized
5. Provide Physical Labor of Fiber Optic Installation
a. Structured Cabling, Data, Telephone, Coax and Fiber Optics
b. Underground conduit placement, underground cable pulling and proofing
c. Fiber Fusion and Mechanical splicing and OTDR troubleshooting
6. Time management of crews and self- Daily productivity
a. Maintain direct contact with manager
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
