DSP-1 CAL Behavior Support Professional –
We’re seeking for a DSP-1 CAL Behavior Support Professional to join our TERI team!
The DSP-1 CAL Behavior Support Professional is is tasked with delivering behavior support to individuals in the program. This role includes implementing Individual Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) by tailoring and executing strategies to help clients meet their goals. The DSP-1 CAL Behavior Support Professional will support adults in community settings, assisting them in engaging with their communities while promoting independence and choice. In addition, assuring active support by fostering an environment that encourages participant decision-making and monitoring client progress. Documenting behaviors for ongoing evaluation is essential, along with maintaining field notes and other necessary paperwork related to service delivery.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES –
- Assists individuals with self-care and activities of daily living, providing the appropriate level of support. Depending on the program, can include making meals, money skills, shopping, leisure, toileting, eating, medication administration, transportation and maintaining presentable appearance.
- Provides transportation for clients and students assigned for planned outings, school or day program, appointments, and all other required transportation.
- Responsible for honoring individual choice whenever possible based on the safety of the individual’s needs and restrictions.
- Maintain all administration and documentation of client’s and student’s medication and the ability to provide first aid treatment and/or medical attention; instructed by nursing staff. Developing creative and client-appropriate activities requires understanding the interests, abilities, and preferences of the individuals involved.
QUALIFICATIONS –
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- At least six months experience. Experience working with individuals who have severe behavior and learning disorders.
Salary Range –
$20.00 Hourly
