What are the responsibilities and job description for the DSP-3 Mosaics Professional position at TERI Campus of Life?
OVERVIEW –
The Mosaic Professional is a Direct Support Professional responsible for providing mosaic art and related art experiences and education to students/clients in the adult day programs and the Nonpublic School programs. This position involves working collaboratively on projects/goals with the Supervisor of Creative Program. This position also involves working with community professionals at our Fine Arts Building. Mosaic Professional is an integral part of a creative team that assists in directing the TERI Artists, creating mosaics pieces for display, retail, and artistic expression. This position is a Direct Support Professional position with responsibilities that include assisting individuals with personal care, providing behavioral support, and obtaining a class B driver’s license.
- Assist 3-4 individuals in a group setting throughout the scheduled activities.
- Uses a range of teaching approaches to make lessons enjoyable, challenging, and productive.
- Provide creative and client appropriate art activities to individual and groups of clients.
- Structures lessons to reflect the needs of individuals/groups.
- Make every day fun with individual.
- Support individuals with self-care and activities of daily living.
- Assure that choices are an integral part of an individual’s day.
- Deliver individual program plans/goals and behavior support plans.
- Accompany and rehearse with guests as needed.
- Lead and oversees rehearsals for mosaics programming and TERI Special Events.
- Assist with interventions designed to protect individuals who engage in severe problem behavior and those around them.
- Administer and documents client medications and provide medical/first aid treatment.
- Immediately reports any concerns related to individual personal safety.
QUALIFICATIONS –
- B/A BS Degree in educational, Art Education, Studio Art, Fine Arts, Mosaics, or related field.
- At least one year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination working with special needs and experience working with adults in vocational or volunteer settings.
- Demonstrate personal skills, creative talent, and ability in mosaics, preferably proficiency with multiple tools and mediums.
- Develop, write, and deliver a genre of arts and mosaics curriculum.
- Must be able to obtain Class B Driver’s License with 2 Years Clean Driving Record
