Summary / Objective : Performs assigned engineering tasks for the design and preparation of plans and details, and performs design calculations for assigned projects. Responsible for the use of various computer programs to obtain results. Works closely with other staff to gain technical knowledge and work efficiency.
Essential Functions
- Develops design concepts, details and drawings using CAD equipment
- Develops construction cost estimates, reports and specifications using computer programs
- Performs studies, analysis and design calculations, and documents design procedures
- Creates and runs computer models to aid in engineering analysis and design
- Prepares the project deliverables including plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates
- Applies applicable standards of practice to prepare the assigned civil, transportation, structural and / or site engineering plans and project documents
- Interfaces with various disciplines and CAD staff as needed to complete assigned tasks
- Performs field investigations and construction inspection duties as assigned
- Performs other duties as required by Project Managers / Department Manager
