Summary / Objective : Responsible for performing and overseeing surveying functions. Performs site surveys, topographic mapping, construction staking, and roadway and boundary surveys for public and private clients.
Essential Functions
- Perform topographic surveys and transfer data into a compatible format for plotting using AutoCAD or Microstation
- Preparation of base maps for projects
- Responsible for preparation of ROW plans
- Partners in research of previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys
- Maintains accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed
- Communicate directly with various staff to ensure that the proper plans and projects are completed according to the required priorities
- Communicate with clients and land owners on behalf of the company
- Assist with project scope of work definition and estimating surveying hours / fees
- Assist in Quality Assurance / Quality Control procedures for project work
- Provide mentorship and training to surveying staff
- Exercise judgment in the field regarding safety, operations and technical expertise to meet field conditions
- Performs other duties as required by Department Managers
