Job Title : Fielder I
Department : Engineering
Reports To : Field Manager / Project Manager / Director of Engineering
Employment Status : Non-exempt, Hourly
Job Summary :
The position of Engineering Fielder is responsible for conducting field surveys, locates, preparing technical documents, and monitoring systems while utilizing hardware or software necessary to complete tasks. An Engineering Fielder will be capable of identifying, troubleshooting, and maintaining multiple projects at one time, whether working alone or as part of a team.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to) :
- Working on small projects of low complexity. Refer to Exhibit A for Definitions on project sizing descriptions.
- Maintaining a detailed photo log.
- Measuring field distances using measuring wheel, tape, etc.
- Measuring heights of attachments on utility poles utilizing height stick.
- Operating Locator and Systems accompanying locators
- Create pole diagrams of existing conditions / attachments / anchors / brand, etc.
- Clean and maintain all company vehicles and equipment assigned for use.
- Lifting 50 lbs.
- Walking for long periods and distances outdoors on various terrain, which may include alongside heavily trafficked highways / roadways.
- Working outside in all-weather types / conditions.
- Periodically working extended days (10 – 14 hours) based on project need.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
