What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groundskeeper (Seasonal) position at Terra Vista Managment, Inc.?
Campland on the Bay and Mission Bay RV Resort occupy prime acreage on Mission Bay near Crown Point. Our groundskeepers ensure our campsites and other areas are timely maintained, cleaned and ready to be enjoyed. Good first impressions matter and our groundskeepers are critical to this achievement! If you prefer to work outside, this is a great fit for you.
Ideal candidates will have entry-level lawn care or maintenance experience, reliable, consistent attendance, a professional attitude, will follow directions and safety rules, and will complete assigned duties on time and at the level of quality specified. On busy days we may have several hundred guests check in while several hundred check out; our groundskeepers are hustling! This is a seasonal job, $18.03/hour with paid sick time in accordance with the City of San Diego ordinance. EOE M/F/D/V
On any given day, you’ll do some or all of these tasks:
- Make new fire rings (we’ll show you how)
- Remove worn, scorched or damaged fire rings and replace them with new ones
- Remove damaged picnic tables and replace them
- Clean picnic tables
- Remove trash from trash containers, pick up trash and dog poop from campsites, remove ashes from fire rings
- Trim weeds and grass, rake and remove leaves and other debris
- Control pests
- Bring lost or abandoned property to Lost and Found
- Assist our guests, usually by giving directions, answering questions, or guiding them to the right department or person for help if you can’t solve their problem or concern
- Follow our safety policies and procedures
- Use various hand and yard tools to perform your job
- Other maintenance department tasks as directed by your supervisor or the department manager
Requires:
- Entry level lawn care or maintenance experience
- Follow directions
- Consistently show up on time for all assigned shifts - attendance is an essential job function
- Well-kempt personal grooming
- Able to lift, pull or push 50 pounds
- Availability to work weekends and holidays; we are a 24/7 operation
Desired Education: High school diploma or equivalent
