DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Delivers routine daily oral, inhalation, topical medications, and premeasured auto-injectable medications for anaphylaxis, vaccination, and opioid-related drug overdose to residents under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse unless otherwise allowed by state law.
2. Observe for any adverse drug reactions and report any problems to the nurse.
3. Records medication administration according to company policies and procedures.
4. Follows written or verbal instructions on how to manage medications.
5. Observe residents for changes and document changes in their condition accordingly.
6. Performs tasks associated with medication administration, including vital signs, stocking medication carts, and removing discontinued medications.
7. Practices safe handling and storage of medications.
8. Responds to resident requests and other direct care duties as assigned.
9. Perform fingerstick glucose monitoring checks under direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

- Maintains confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
- Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel. Reports any retaliation or discrimination to HR or compliance officer.
- Report any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to the supervisor and / or administrator. Protects residents from abuse and cooperates with all investigations.
- Reports any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and / or hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policy.
- Participates in all life and safety and emergency drills and trainings. Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during the implementation or activation of the facility's emergency plan.
- Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to the supervisor.
- Follows established infection control policies and procedures.
- As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and skills competency.
