The maintenance manager is responsible for the installation, repair and upkeep of TerraMai’s machines, mechanical systems, buildings and other structures. This includes periodic maintenance checks, planning equipment upgrades and machinery modifications, identifying faults, investigating equipment breakdowns and monitoring the performance of equipment after repairs have been carried out.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain all TerraMai (TM) equipment and machinery and perform any electrical repairs/work needed
- Develop and manage the TM Preventive Maintenance (PM) program to insure all machinery remains in good operating condition as well as maintaining reports and records for all the repair works conducted
- Individually perform repair work on site
- Examine and optimize the existing machinery to work as efficiently as possible
- Maintain inventory for the tools (initiating purchase orders as appropriate) and place orders for new ones when they are required as appropriate and within budgeted parameters
- Investigate new equipment / machinery that might be required for the TerraMai
- Work with plant management to create an annual budget for Repair & Maintenance (R&M) activities and tracks performance to budget daily/weekly/monthly; ensures that counter measures (short/long term) are in place if goals are not being met to meet/exceed budget requirements
- Work with contractors to ensure the expected work to be accomplished is being done in a safe, timely manner and within budget
- Work with production to schedule all maintenance work with minimal downtime
- Plan work to improve operational efficiency, reduce unscheduled downtime and to lower the unit cost of maintenance activity
- Accountable for maintaining repair parts, inventory, initiating purchase requisitions as appropriate and within budgeted parameters
Education/Qualifications:
- Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Analytical skills for troubleshooting equipment
- Ability to understand and read mechanical drawings, electrical drawings and schematics
- Good knowledge of PLC’s and ladder logic
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Good knowledge of manufacturing and safety
- Licensed electrician preferred
- OSHA certification preferred
