Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Metrology Technician to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director, Quality the Metrology Technician will responsible for Identifying, troubleshooting, solving tooling problems, and helping with manufacturing, inspection, and engineering issues.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply extensive experience and knowledge to calibrate and troubleshoot fault isolation, adjustment, and repairs using Test Measure Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) certified laboratory standards
- Perform calibrations and repairs on a variety of parameters, including temperature, physical dimensional, mechanical, and electronics
- Develop calibration procedures and ensures documentation confirms Quality Systems requirements
- Perform complex configuration and tests of equipment according to instructions, blueprints, schematic sketches, and prescribed testing procedures
- Perform calibrations to metrology standards
- Conduct uncertainty analysis
- Develops uncertainty budgets, develop/modify/reviews procedures, and ensure documentation
- Conform to quality systems requirements
- Use hand tools and set up and use standard machine tools
- Use typical laboratory measuring, calibration, and test equipment
- Perform troubleshooting in conjunction with design modification functions involved in production or engineering liaison
- Guide equipment operation to customers and equipment operators
- Provide activity and status reports to management
- Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues
- Ensure documentation conforms to Quality Systems requirements
- Manage reports on system conditions, repairs, and preventive maintenance performed; prepares and maintain repair and maintenance records as required by federal and department regulations and directives
- Perform complex configuration and tests of equipment according to instructions, blueprints, schematic sketches, and prescribed testing procedures
- Maintain records of test data and assisted in writing test procedures and test evaluation reports
- Interact effectively with others to produce the desired results
- Participate constructively in the utilization of process improvement methods to provide timely, cost-effective, quality services
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- 3-5 years of experience as a technician in the manufacturing/metrology field using metrology equipment (laser tracker, arm, etc.)
- 3 years of experience with tooling setup and use
- General knowledge and experience using CAD software
- Experience with GageTrak or other calibration management software
- Experience with MS Excel
- General knowledge of spatial analyzer software or similar software
- Certification in engineering or metrology disciplines preferred

Salary Range $26.00 - $36.00 per hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Physical Demands
An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. In performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit or stand for long durations of time, in addition to bending, reaching, and walking. The job operates in a professional office environment but in a manufacturing company. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
