Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Mission Assurance Manager to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director of Mission Assurance, the Mission Assurance Managers work with a multidisciplinary team, especially program managers, to assure the successful execution of customer deliverables. The Mission Assurance Managers team with, and provide independent assurance for, the Program Manager to deliver affordable, high-performance space systems that meet internal specifications and customer contract requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate and partner with internal program management, engineering, manufacturing, operations functions, and external customer program management while performing independent assurance evaluations to ensure program performance, quality, cost, and schedule requirements are met
- Collaborate with Program Managers on customer meetings and interface
- Actively participate in design, production/test readiness, and other reviews and evaluations to make risk-informed decisions for Mission Success
- Provide leadership to identify, evaluate, and monitor potential issues and risks independent of program management, engineering, manufacturing, and operations
- Participate in Material Review Board, Engineering Review Board and Failure Review Board activities as required
- Lead Mission Assurance team including Reliability Engineers and technical subject matter experts
- Develop reliability analyses and failure analyses as needed to improve design, production, and support program deliverables
- Perform and manage Design/Test/Manufacturing Readiness Reviews
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification And Skills
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or relevant technical discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.) or non-technical degree with at least 8 years of aerospace Mission Assurance experience
- 3-5 years of experience in a key Mission Assurance or Mission Success role
- Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Quality Assurance, System Safety Engineering, Environment/Safety/Health, Reliability Engineering, Parts Engineering, and Materials and Processes
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Processes
- Demonstrated teamwork and written/oral communications skills
- Ability to communicate across organizational boundaries and levels
Additional Differentiators
- Master’s degree in engineering, physical sciences, or business administration
- 5 years of Mission Assurance experience in aerospace industry during the PDR/CDR phase of a program
- Experience with Mission Assurance industry and government standards
- Experience with government-related customers and their mission assurance practices
- Concept-to-launch experience with one or more satellite missions
- Understanding of satellites, space sensors, and ground systems used for space assets

Salary Range $150,000-$190,000
Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
