Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Staff CNC Programmer to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director of CNC Machining, the Staff CNC Programmer will create complex CNC programs for high end CNC machines (Kern Micro HD, Grob G550 Fooke gantry mills).
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage CNC program schedule to efficiently utilize all machine capacity.
- Work directly with production planner and management to prioritize program schedule.
- Direct and lead junior programmers to meet scheduling requirements.
- Create toolpath for CNC machining equipment including 2-9 axis CNC lathes and mills
- Manage toolpath files and programs in accordance with company standards
- Create setup sheets and provide required information to coworkers quickly
Qualifications and Skills
- 12 years of multi-axis CNC programming experience.
- Experience with Mastercam programming software is necessary
- Experience with hyperMILL and SolidWorks is necessary
- Knowledge of how-to setup and operate CNC machining equipment, and machine parts compliant to requirements based on models, drawings, and other relevant materials and know the controllers of our CNC Equipment.
- Familiarity with several industry standard machines (Grob, Kern, etc.) and controls
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Comprehensive knowledge of tooling and fixturing principles
- Must be able to read and understand G-code programs, and make modifications as necessary
- Ability to setup a machine using G-code programs as reference
- Must understand different requirements for production vs prototype tasks
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Must be willing to ask questions and learn from others
- Positive attitude and ability to work within a fast-paced environment

Salary Range $90,000-$140,000
Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Physical Demands
