Compensation for this position is based on years of experience, technical expertise, technical education, and geographic location with a range of $69,848-$80,000.

Description
Terraphase Engineering is seeking a Senior Hazardous Building Materials Technician to join our team in our Oakland, Pleasanton, or Sacramento offices.
The Role
- Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times
- Conduct building materials and environmental media sampling (air, soil, soil vapor, surface water, and/or groundwater) in accordance with standard operating procedures utilizing a wide variety of equipment
- Supervision or third-party oversight of other contractors
- Supervise abatement activities and ensure contractor compliance with health & safety regulations and project specifications
- Maintain accurate field logs and documentation of sampling and monitoring activities
- Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow decontamination procedures
- Work with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- 2 years’ experience working as a hazardous building materials technician or environmental field technician
- Maintain OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification (including annual refresher)
- Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) certification (Required)
- Worked in construction, environmental consulting or industrial hygiene
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Willing to travel to perform field work
- Willing to perform work in “off-hours” (weekends and night work)
- California Department of Public Health Lead Inspector/Assessor or Sampling Technician certificate
- Fall Protection Competent Person
