Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Part-Time Lake & Pond Management Technician (Aquatic Field Specialist) to join our growing team! This is a unique opportunity to work in an outdoor environment, helping to manage and preserve local lakes and ponds by managing invasive weeds and algae.
Duties
- Treat and manage invasive weeds and algae in lakes and ponds
- Assist with maintenance and upkeep of treatment equipment
- Follow environmentally safe and effective treatment plans
- Work directly with a team to ensure water quality and ecosystem health
- Participate in field activities and data collection
- Communicate with clients about treatments provided and observations about the body of water
Requirements
- Interest in biology, chemistry and environmental science
- Experience with or willingness to learn how to back up trailer and drive a motor boat (helpful, but not required- we will provide training)
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently in outdoor settings
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to physically life 50lbs and willing to work in seasonal heat and/or cold
- Willing to be exposed to animals and insects, as well as hazardous physical conditions, such as mechanical parts and chemical exposure.
Training
- No prior experience in pond management is necessary: we provide full on the job training
