Terrapin Restaurant, voted Best Farm-to-Table Restaurant and Best Bistro of the Hudson Valley, is seeking a Pastry Assistant to support our pastry chef and kitchen team. We're looking for a reliable, self-motivated individual with a passion for seasonal, farm-to-table cooking and a love for creating beautiful, delicious desserts.
Responsibilities:
- Plate and prepare desserts during service (Saturday and Sunday evenings required)
- Assist the pastry chef with the preparation of pastries, desserts, and breads for daily service in the bistro, dining room, and seasonal patios
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry station
- Ensure consistency, quality, and proper presentation of all desserts
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen (pastry experience preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and creativity
- Passion for dessert making and seasonal ingredients
- Reliable, efficient, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Schedule:
- Evening service shifts required (Saturday and Sunday)
- Potential for daytime prep shifts as well
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
