Position Summary The Designer I will support pre-construction engineering projects by preparing detailed technical drawings using CAD and other computer systems. These drawings will include solar array layouts, topographical relief maps, and various structural features necessary for the successful implementation of engineering projects. The Designer I will apply knowledge of construction materials, construction practices, engineering principles, and mathematics to accurately draft plans and generate material estimates. As a Designer I, you will be responsible for creating precise design documents used in permitting, fabrication, and installation, as well as providing technical support and material estimates. Your role will involve working closely with project teams to ensure design integrity and the successful implementation of solar and construction projects. Primary Accountabilities (Essential Duties) :
- Training and Development : Complete all required training, certifications, and other learning and development as assigned.
- Compliance : Uphold and maintain accountability to all Federal, State, and local laws, and adhere to company policies.
- Design Preparation : Use engineering principles, CAD software, and equipment to prepare design documents for permitting, fabrication, and installation.
- Sales Support : Assist the sales department by preparing drawings from rough sketches or general engineering and design information.
- Customer Communications : Prepare reviewed letters and technical documents for customers and designers.
- Additional Duties : Perform other duties as required to support the team and project needs. Secondary Accountabilities :
- Attend program meetings as required.
- Apply knowledge of construction technology to design tasks.
- Contribute to the renewable energy industry with your design expertise.
- Understand and assist with parametric assemblies in Autodesk Inventor.
- Assist in conceptual planning and promote effective business relationships.
- Collaborate with the design team, engineers, project managers, and customers. Position Qualifications : To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements :

- Education & Experience :
- Degree : Vocational Certificate or 2-year degree in CAD, Autodesk, Adobe, or related field.
- Experience : 1 years in Civil or Construction Design or Drafting, preferably within the renewable energy or construction industry.
- Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth, CAD software (AutoCAD or equivalent). Work Environment & Conditions :
- Environment : Hybrid work environment with in-office requirements.
