POSITION SUMMARY
The EHS Director is a key member of the TerraSource leadership team with accountability for directing all plant activities related to Safety and Continuous Improvement for the Belleville IL and directing Safety leads at five other locations. This position will also have responsibility for managing and focusing on measures associated with safety, quality, cost, productivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Driving safety improvements across Belleville, IL facility.
- Performing fishbone and 5 whys at all locations when needed.
- Guiding 5 EHS leads through the process of growing a safety culture.
- Travel as needed to other locations.
- Work with all managers on Safety and CI projects.
- Assist HR with workman’s comp requirements.
- Performing hazard assessments at all locations.
- Introduce Lean Management principles for all locations.
- Perform/Assist on any training that is needed at all locations.
- Communicate all near misses and injuries with HR.
- Drive safety discipline throughout all businesses.
- Creating LO/TO programs.
- Creating JSP for all facilities.
- Performing RCFA at any location for injuries or internal issues.
- Improve safety TRCR rate at all facilities.
- Ensure all EPA requirements are met for each location.
- Ensure all employees have the right to refuse to perform an unsafe act.
- Develop relationships with employees to create trust, respect and drive the understanding of the importance of a functioning Safety Culture.
- Track all Safety and CI projects and initiatives.
- Work with managers to understand that discipline is not always the correct path to change employees.
- Locations include: Belleville, IL, Portland, OR, Poca, WV, Raleigh, IL, Princeton, WV, Tazewell, VA, and Stafford, TX
