Summary
The Senior Director of Human Resources ensures that Human Resource activities are in concert with the organization’s strategic objectives and that they comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Specific Duties And Responsibilities
The Senior Director of Human Resources ensures that Human Resource activities are in concert with the organization’s strategic objectives and that they comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsible for overseeing the day to day and long-term operations for the property and performs advanced professional work advising property team leaders and team members on the application of Human Resources policies in the context of hiring, discipline, employment termination, training and development, compensation, benefits, team members leave of absence, equal opportunity, and other human resource issues.
Specific Duties And Responsibilities
- Act as a consultant to influence leaders and colleagues, deliver constructive advice, identify and resolve problems and positively influence change.
- Oversee internal controls to ensure that all Human Resources programs and policies are compliant with state and federal laws and regulations (ex. FMLA, ERISA, FLSA).
- Responsibility for all Human Resources functions as it relates to all team members, including employee relations, recruiting, selection and onboarding, compensation, benefits administration, implementation and administration of Human Resources programs and employment policies, personnel record-keeping, Worker’s Compensation, training and workforce development, and compliance with Human Resource laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance to departments and managers on employee relations, performance management, professional development, organizational design, and team building.
- Ensure that the onboarding process captures all essential personnel file components. Ensure that personnel files are audited on a periodic basis.
- Manage the Indiana Gaming Commission requirements, such as Hire/Termination tracking and background check completion.
- Organize leadership training for supervisors and managers to ensure a high level of leadership and supervise proficiency.
- Spearhead employee engagement programs (e.g. mentor programs).
- Plan and execute training programs that are needed and appropriate for employees from all levels of the organization.
- Manage, hire, and mentor the Human Resources team providing recommendation as to how to best grow the team to meet ever-changing business needs.
- Encourage strong employee relations through open communication, professional conduct, addressing and resolving employee issues, maintaining appropriate confidentiality, and implementation of industry best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Indiana Gaming license.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- 8-10 years of experience in Human Resources (with at least 3 years’ experience managing a Human Resource Department); Preference will be given to experience in casino/gaming, hospitality, and sports industries.
- Ability to communicate with employees from all levels of the organization, including group presentation skills.
- Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the property.
