Job Description :
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Roadway Engineer to lead the development of roadway and drainage construction plans. This position requires strong knowledge of FDOT and municipal standards, as well as the ability to manage multidisciplinary projects effectively. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise in transportation engineering design and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee the design and development of roadway and drainage construction plans, including signing, pavement marking, lighting, signalization, and drainage plans, in compliance with FDOT and municipal standards.
Apply FDOT procedures, specifications, and standards to the creation of accurate and compliant construction drawings.
Communicate with municipalities, utility providers, and governmental agencies to coordinate project activities and ensure regulatory compliance.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, utilizing independent judgment to make recommendations on field design changes.
Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, providing expertise and maintaining project timelines.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (preferred).
Experience : 510 years of experience in roadway design, with a focus on FDOT or state transportation agency projects.
Licensure : Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of Florida (required).
Strong knowledge of municipal and FDOT design techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Proficiency with CADD software such as MicroStation or AutoCAD (desired).
Experience in utilities or multidisciplinary project management (a plus).
Preferred Skills :
Proven client liaison skills, with the ability to maintain effective communication and relationships.
Ability to adapt to changing project scenarios and manage complex projects effectively.
