Job Description :
We are seeking an experienced Structural / Bridge Engineer to join a dynamic engineering consulting team specializing in the planning, design, and construction inspection of civil, water and wastewater, structural, and transportation-related projects. This position offers the opportunity to be deeply involved in providing advisory services, designing innovative engineering solutions, and contributing to impactful infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with clients, contractors, and junior staff to deliver high-quality results. This role involves technical leadership, client engagement, and hands-on project management, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities :
Manage complex, multidisciplinary projects with a proactive and adaptable approach.
Develop detailed engineering designs, specifications, drawings, and schedules for transportation-related structures.
Represent the organization in technical meetings with clients and other stakeholders.
Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing technical and professional guidance.
Liaise with municipalities, utility providers, and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance.
Prepare contract documents, including plans, specifications, and approval applications.
Provide structural design services, including highway bridge design, bridge inspection and maintenance, and post-design engineering support during construction.
Apply independent judgment and recommend field design adjustments as necessary.
Qualifications :
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred).
520 years of experience in structural or roadway design, with a focus on FDOT or state transportation projects.
Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of Florida (required).
Proficiency with AutoCAD or Civil 3D; experience with MicroStation is desired.
Familiarity with software tools such as Mathcad, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong client-facing communication and liaison skills.
