The Bonus Payment Services Support will play a critical role in processing and managing incentive payments for service members assigned to the Georgia Army National Guard (GAARNG). This position involves executing and maintaining an accurate and efficient bonus payment process, which includes verifying eligibility, processing reenlistment and retention bonuses, and managing various incentive actions through the Guard Incentive Management System (GIMS). The incumbent will ensure compliance with regulations, resolve discrepancies, and provide support to service members in a timely and professional manner.
What does a typical day look like for a Bonus Payment Services Support?
The Bonus Payment Services Support's day is dynamic. The role involves verifying the eligibility of service members for bonuses, processing payments, and ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate. They use the Guard Incentive Management System (GIMS) to manage and track bonus transactions, resolve discrepancies, and respond to service members’ inquiries. The support specialist prepares and submits regular status reports, monitors payment statuses, and assists with audits. They also review trends, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with all regulations, maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines throughout the day.
What qualifications do you look for?

- Completion of the Incentive Manager course (distance learning phase) online through https://guardu.ng.mil.
- Completion of the Comptrollers and Fiscal Law course online through https://jagu.army.mil.
- Completion of the Incentive Manager course (resident phase) at NGPEC within the first year of employment.
- Experience in processing incentive or bonus payments, or a related field, is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively assist service members and report to leadership.
- Ability to work within deadlines and manage complex tasks with accuracy.
- Proficiency in using systems such as GIMS (Guard Incentive Management System) and other related software.
