Job Description:
The Environmental Program Support Specialist will provide essential support to the NSWC PCD environmental program management. This role involves interaction with technical, scientific, and management personnel at all levels, ensuring effective information exchange within the environmental program. The specialist will handle tasks related to the collection, analysis, and management of environmental data, as well as assist in various environmental compliance and planning activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Management:
- Upload data and forms into databases, Microsoft TEAMS, and SharePoint.
- Collect field data, analyze the results, and create or update associated databases.
- Maintain current and accurate information in environmental databases.
- Environmental Program Support:
- Assist in the preparation, review, and revision of Environmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and checklists.
- Provide support for environmental inspections, including assistance in conducting inspections and tracking the outcomes.
- Compliance and Action Tracking:
- Track action items related to environmental planning and oversight of acquisition infrastructure support projects.
- Monitor corrective actions and resolution of findings identified in internal and external environmental program self-assessments, audits, and inspections.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Communicate effectively with personnel across NSWC PCD, both orally and in writing, to share information and support environmental program activities.
- Collaborate with teams using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint to ensure seamless coordination and documentation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience using database systems and electronic media for data entry, revision, tracking, and storage, particularly in support of environmental analysis and compliance management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to interact effectively across various levels of personnel.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to manage data up to and including Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) levels.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance standards is a plus.
