So, what will the Materiel Expediter at Terrestris do?
As the Materiel Expediter, you will provide critical logistics and administrative support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) as part of the Professional and Administrative Support Services (PASS) contract. You will ensure the timely delivery, movement, and tracking of equipment, materials, and supplies in support of mission objectives and operational efficiency.
What does a typical day look like for the Materiel Expediter?
You will:
- Track and coordinate the movement of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies throughout the logistics lifecycle.
- Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to confirm and expedite deliveries.
- Monitor inventory levels and delivery schedules to prevent delays in material availability.
- Prepare and maintain records such as shipping documents, receipts, and inventory reports using government logistics systems.
- Reconcile shipping documentation with inventory records and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and staging of materials for shipment or redistribution.
- Liaise with warehouse personnel, supply technicians, and acquisition staff to ensure material handling compliance.
- Support material audits and inventory inspections as required.
- Utilize Navy logistics systems such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), R-Supply, or other platforms to input and retrieve material data.
What qualifications do you look for?
You might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:
· A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
· A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the field of materiel handling or logistics support.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Familiarity with DoD/Navy logistics processes and systems is highly desirable.
We are extra_ impressed by folks with:_
· Experience with Navy ERP, R-Supply, or other Navy logistics systems.
· Forklift certification or experience handling hazardous materials (if applicable).
· Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Navy supply chain policies.
