So, what will the Training Master Scheduler at Terrestris do?
The Training Master Scheduler plays a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and ensuring the timely execution of training schedules for personnel, units, and commands. As the Training Master Scheduler you will be responsible for organizing and managing training activities to meet operational needs, maintaining readiness, and ensuring personnel are adequately prepared for missions. You will serve as the single point of contact for all matters pertaining to “A” (Apprentice Training), C1 (Advance specialized skill training), D1 (Individual, not rating-specific professional development functional skill training), F1 (Individual skill or rating-specific functional training), and G1 (Pipeline skill progression Training) all related courses associated with Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) Seabee basic, intermediate and advanced training.
What does a typical day look like for the Training Master Scheduler?
You will:
- Respond to all correspondence pertaining to course issues. Receive phone calls and visitors, answer inquiries concerning scheduling courses.
- Ensure the essential NITRAS (Navy Integrated Training Resources and Administration System), CETARS (Corporate Enterprise Training Activity Resource Systems [US Navy]) and Master Course Reference File (Seabee University/Course Schedule) are current and in accordance with NCTC, NETC and CSFE directives.
- Draft and submit schedules to be used in the execution of Naval Technical Training conducted at NCTC Gulfport and off-site facilities.
- Maintain records and data pertaining to all course of instruction at NCTC Gulfport.
- Schedule and conduct weekly scheduling meetings between NCTC Gulfport, Schoolhouse Departments, D1 and F1 course coordinators, the Naval Construction Group Two (NCG2) and tenant Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) training personnel.
- Develop and submit for approval and promulgation weekly C1, D1, F1, and G1 school course schedules.
- Identify scheduling conflicts, provide coordinated recommendations for approval and implement resolutions to scheduling issues in order to facilitate courses to the maximum extent.
- Inform government training department of, and propose resolutions to, issues arising from “A”, C1, D1, F1, and G1 school course completion packages.
- Assist the Business/Financial Management Department Head (N8) with matters pertaining to “A”, C1, D1, F1, and G1 scheduling and school costs associated with courses taught, Equipment Replacement Plans (ERPs) and information on schedules for reimbursable billings.
- Provide Command data for facilities level utilization and scheduling briefs pertaining to school courses.
- Ensure monthly Metrics brief is updated and ready for presentation.
- Coordinate/liaise with NCTC Gulfport Company Commanders, Course Managers, NCG2 and tenant command training personnel for approval on matters relating to Naval technical training schedules and opportunities.
- Provide advance notice of technical training opportunities to NCTC Gulfport Company Commanders, Course Managers, NCG2 and tenant command training personnel of any approved changes to establish schedules to facilitate continued coordination and minimize discrepancies in student attendance.
What qualifications do you look for?
You might be the scheduling professional we’re looking for if you have:
- A Training Scheduling background.
- A minimum of (5) years of scheduling experience as a Training Scheduler.
- Strong understanding of military training requirements, certification processes, and operational needs.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in scheduling software (e.g., MS Excel, Navy-specific scheduling tools).
- A high school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred).
- Must be eligible for or hold a security clearance as required by the position.
